I get emails every time someone new follows Mission: Faith on Twitter, and I like to read about the person in their info box to see who God has reached. But sometimes (and I get this on my personal Twitter as well) there are people who are following me just for the sake of having more people to follow, and by their description, I can tell they don't know Christ. On my personal account, I block those people, but I decided with Mission: Faith, because my goal is to send Christ's message to the world, I will evangelize to them. I sent them the typical message I send eveyone who follows me, but I will do more as well.
As everyone in good faith knows, prayer is most powerful when numerous people pray, so I ask you to join me in prayer on this little mission to get Christ to reach a few girls who need to understand that the hole they feel in their lives which they are currently filling with immoral behaviors can be filled with the love of Jesus! And if you are one of those people reading this, know that I am not judging you, because that is only for our Father in Heaven to do, but I do want bad, immoral behaviors to change. Our Father loves you more than you can imagine! I encourage you to read a Bible and get involved with a church and see the change in your life!
Have a great night everyone.
Love,
Kayla

Reaching out
Wednesday, November 23, 2011
Happy Thanksgiving!
For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out in the valleys and hills, a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey, a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the LORD your God for the good he has given you. Take care lest you forget the LORD your God by not keeping his commandments and his rules and his statutes, which I command you today.
--Deuteronomy 8:7-11
Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion, and to you shall vows be performed. O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come. When Iniquities prevail against me, you atone for our transgressions. Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple! By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and the farthest seas; the one who by his strength established the mountains, being girded with might; who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples, so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs. You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy. You visit the earth and water it, you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. You water its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth. You crown the year with our bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance. The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy. --Psalm 65:1-13
On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us." When he was them he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus answered, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" And then he said to him, "Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well." --Luke 17:11-19
These verses were so inspiring to me! And our priest gave us a very interesting idea for Thanksgiving: try and notice all the little things people do for you tomorrow, even the guy in the car who lets you cross the street before he keeps driving! And give thanks to God, of course, for all the blessings you have. I am blessed to have a very good church, wonderful and supportive family members, encouraging friends who are devoted to Christ like I am, great teachers and an excellent education, for so many opportunities for me to experience the world (dance, swimming, speech, music, and church), and to be blessed with little things I quite often take for granted, like a phone, computer, electricity, heat (I take that for granted a lot, especially being from a place where I wear a snow jacket more than I wear a sundress!), a bed, clothing, food, clean water, and even the pencils I use to underline important Bible verses! What are you thankful for? Tell me about it!
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Love,
Kayla

1 Corinthians 12:12-31
1 Corinthians 12:12-31 talk about how God made us perfectly and put us in the exact spot we need to be to fulfill His plans for the world. (It's a long verse, so look it up in your Bible at home and read it, then read my post to know what I'm talking about :)) Imagine if our nose was on our arms and our hands on our face. It would not go well at all! We would probably all have broken noses from whacking our arms (if you're anything like me and can trip over a cordless telephone sitting on a table) and our eyes would be poked out from trying to grab things with our face! Or what if our entire body was just an eye? We couldn't enjoy the sounds, tastes, and feeling of the world around us! Or if something really small went away, like our toes. They seem meaningless, but without them we couldn't walk!
Every part of our body is placed where it is for a purpose and function important to the rest of the body. How is that any different than God placing us in a certain state, family, or whatever other situation you can think of? So God gave me the trials of dealing with crazy blood to be able to testify to working hard and pushing through trials to get to a great point in life where you feel great for 1) doing something amazing and 2) knowing you kept faith through trials and tribulations, then getting to give all the glory to Christ! How cool is that?
Do you have a cool story or testimony related to this? Send it to me at missionfaithblog@gmail.com!
And don't forget to like the Mission: Faith Facebook page and follow @Mission_Faith on Twitter!
Love y'all!

Why I'm a Christian
It's said often that Christianity is a not a religion, but a relationship. It's completely true. Jesus is not just "some guy" we say our prayers to. He's so much more than that! He's:
--A best friend
--Alpha
--Omega
--The salt of the Earth
--The way to the Father
See? And there's way more than that as well!!! That's why I am not part of another religion, but in a wonderful, awesome, glorious relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I believe because when I pray, talk to Jesus, or talk about all the wonderful things he has given me now that I'm reborn in Christ, I feel uplifted, like light is pouring out of me. I don't know why I chose it, it just always seemed right. But church is so wonderful because you go and learn so much every week. You get to go and praise Jesus. Why wouldn't that be the best place on earth? And as for me going into ministry, it's because I want to go out and show the world who Jesus is to me. I try every day to get up and make my day devoted to Christ. I want to be the best I can be. I know sometimes I fall short, but He still loves me anyways.
Why are you a Christian? Why do you believe? Send me your story at missionfaithblog@gmail.com, and I'll post it on here! Have a great weekend everyone! Love you all!

Nicole's Testimony
I always wanted to be famous.
I had been modeling and acting since I was 5 years old. I had been with the same agency in Portland, Oregon for about 8 years, and had appeared in numerous publications, ads, magazines, television commercials. I had my own checking account by the age of 12, and saw billboards with my face on them as I was being driven to junior high dances. But I was a ”big fish in a small pond”. I was ready for the big time, and wanted to make it in Hollywood.
I moved to Hollywood at the age of 16 and plunged headfirst into the task of becoming an “it” girl. Although I was still in high school, I partied with well-known actors, had an all-access pass to the hottest clubs, and mingled with the see-and-be-seen celebrities. But because I was young and naïve, I neglected the most basic things that actually would help me achieve my goal of fame: getting a headshot and a resume, taking advanced acting classes, making sure I got enough sleep at night.
I signed with a small agency and began modeling to pay the bills while making my way through the cutthroat industry that is the devil’s playground. Meanwhile, I witnessed many people compromise their dignity to be accepted amongst the superficial Hollywood standards. From up close, I saw the ‘famous’ people ruining their lives with drugs and excessive partying. I even knew some who sadly died as a result of their extreme lifestyles.
The glamour, glitz and the lights had a dark side that terrified me. Although I was running around with the cool kids and living the life of a starlet, I was still a small town girl in my heart. Not only that, but something never felt quite right when it came time to actually audition. Each time a camera was focused on me, I didn’t feel prepared enough, pretty enough, or completely ready to be scrutinized by the people who make it all “happen”.
I now believe that the fear that prevented me from achieving Hollywood stardom was actually God’s way of protecting me from an industry that chews up and destroys young women like me. But at the time, I was just heartbroken.
At 23, I fell into a deep depression. I felt helpless and foolish that had I allowed myself to get into this position. With no college degree and no alternate plan for my life, I knew I had made a huge mistake. I didn’t know where to go.
I turned to every self-help book available: The Law of Attraction, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, all the Anthony Robbins books – but nothing helped me.
Then everything changed.
Every single night I would look up into the stars and pray for a miracle. I completely gave my life to God. I asked for guidance to lift me out of the horrible situation I was in. I saw what “making it” did to others in this industry and knew I didn’t want that for my life. It was at that point that I realized my great truth:
Everything I went through – all I experienced in that dark city – was for a bigger purpose.
I now see the kind of hold that Hollywood’s harmful message had on me since the time I was a young girl. This influence led me to make decisions in my late teens that I now regret. I now see that the body truly is a temple and young girls and women for instance shouldn’t have sex so easily. Girls often look to sex to feel loved but in the hands of the wrong guy it can destroy self-esteem.
It was Hollywood that made me want to be an actress. I was so infatuated with the fame game – it all looked so glamorous – but in the end it was quite the opposite. I’m not saying everyone in Hollywood is bad. In fact, the Hollywood experience helped me to look at what I really wanted for myself. My mistakes were part of my journey and my value system has completely changed as a result of it. I found Christianity and it turned my life around.
My bigger purpose is this: I want to help other young women avoid some of the same mistakes I’ve made.
Using my experience as a platform, I’d like to be a voice that’s out there to help others – especially young women – be their best selves. By questioning cultural norms, exposing the truth of media exploitation and finding and sharing inspiration from scripture and my own life, I can show those who seek it what it means to be a person of value and confidence.
Christianity needs to be redefined for young girls. There is a certain stereotype of how a Christian girl should look, dress and act. I want to show young women that you can be a good Christian and still embrace many parts of the popular culture.
God listened to my prayers. His power helped deliver me through the depression I was in, financially and spiritually. Every single thing I am now blessed with – material and emotional – is because God knew that once I received these great blessings, I would give myself over to Him and in turn show others the power of God to make anything happen. I just hope through my story – and through God’s will – that I can inspire you to lead a more meaningful life.

How great is God...
So just a few moments ago, my baby brother almost died. Okay, he's not a baby, he's seven, but he's the youngest. Anyways, the intelligent idea to stick a key in a light socket came to his head, and he did so. He was thrown back into the wall and no harm was done after that.
Had he held the key just slightly different, he might not be here. We are so lucky to have a god that loves His children so much, and a god that knows how we still need him in this world. My mom was sobbing while I sat in another room hyperventalating. I said so many prayers of thanks, and I will MOST DEFINITELY continue to do so!
I'm not sure if I'm right on this, but lately, I've been feeling as if I'm moving away from God. This might be my sign to keep my faith in Him, and to know everything is under His control. Anything can be taken away in an instant, and so God was letting me know this. I doubt I'll have a faith issue for quite a while, if ever again.
Have you ever had a close-call experience that's made you realize God is in control? Tell me at missionfaithblog@gmail.com, and I will share it with the rest of the Jesus lovers here at Mission: Faith!

Ways to pray! Thank you Carmen!
Sent in by Carmen-- thank you!
As Christians, prayer is very important to us, but I think sometimes we don't know how to pray. What everyone thinks of when they hear the word "prayer" is kneeling or just sitting and talking to God. This type of prayer is definately good and tons of people do it, but sometimes it can feel a bit intimidating. Sometimes we don't know what to say or we feel God isn't actually listening (even though, of course, He always is). If you don't like whispering to God, it's okay. There are other ways to pray. Write down your prayers or write a letter to God. Tell Him everything, He definately wants to know even when no one else does. Recently, there have been people in my life who have needed prayers. My family had been praying and praying, but it started to get a bit redundant. I wanted a new way to pray for them, so this is what I did. In this empty journal I have, I wrote this: "Lord, as I'm decorating these names, let every second I spend be an hour You spend with them." Then I wrote down each person I was praying for and left some space and drew designs around each one. The whole time I was basically doodling around a certain name,
I was thinking about the person and telling God in my mind to just fill that person up and be with them. There were three people in particular I was praying for. One with cancer, one who had just had a heart-attack, and one who had had a mysterious headache for two straight years. Guess what? God listened. Within a few days, the person with cancer got a cat scan and discovered the tumor was only one-fourth as big as it had been for the past year. The new treatment worked and we will be able to celebrate another birthday with him. The person with the heart-attack began to recover and had no more attacks. The mysterious headache person finally found a doctor who knew what it was from and they have started treating it. Praying does work and God does listen. Never give up on God because He will definately never give up on you.

What are some of your favorite ways to talk to God?
Rachel's Testimony
Thanks to Rachel for sending this in!
So this summer i was at Pine Cove, at the Shores. And let me say it was AMAZING! I was blessed with a wonderful cabin and counselor.
Before camp, I was broken on the inside. I was stressed out and scared about switching highschools this year, and leaving my friends at my old school. I was so angry. I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to show emotions unless i just get completely overwhelmed. I was angry at God for letting me go through this.
Opening day was a lot of fun. My counselor was the one who greeted our car. When I walked up to my cabin, I saw a girl who was in my cabin last summer. I was happy about that because she’s just such a great girl to be around. She’s positive, funny, and mostly she loves the Lord. She helped me a lot during our week at camp.
My counselor was just amazing. I asked her when we were getting ready for bed the first night if we could talk tomorrow(Monday). During our one-on-one she told me I can do anything if I trust and give all my life to Him. It hit me hard. I just started crying, and she prayed with me, and it helped, it hasn’t before. It was an amazing feeling that i will never forget. Later that night at club(worship), during the talk, i just got so overwhelmed. I was crying, and something hit me in my heart. that i need God in my life. For my whole life. That I can trust my life in Him, despite all i’ve gone through. so on Monday night, June 20, 2011, i accepted Christ. that i will NEVER forget. EVER.
I thank all of my cabin, my counselor, senior counselor, another senior counselor, and all the talks and people i met that week for this. you all have impacted my life for the better. i can’t thank y’all enough.
week 4 this summer was the BEST WEEK OF MY LIFE <3
Let's get Cosmopolitain sold in a Plastic bag!
I'm sure you all know what Cosmopolitain magazine is, and if is absolutely disgusting. It shows what's wrong with our society. There have been many Anti-Cosmo issues out, but one is almost about to go through. Nicole Sione, a model and president of Project Inspired (projectinspired.com), has been petitioning to get this in a non-transparent bag and sold only to adults, and she's almost to her goal. Please, sign this petition! It's such a great cause, and it will stop so many young girls from finding disgusting sexual advice and will MOST DEFINITELY be pleasing to our Lord!
And keep Miss Sione and all other petitioners in your prayers to see this go through!
Through Christ's love,

How to be approppriate, and yet still have fun!
Tonight is my school's homecoming dance, and I'm so excited. However, I have had to pray about some things to make sure I honor Christ this evening.
1. Making sure my attire is appropriate! My school doesn't do a typical semi-formal; we have a themed dance. My mom and I went shopping today to get me a pirate costume (the theme is On the High Seas), and when I got home and put it on, it almost showed my underwear. Quite obviously, I cannot wear that! But no worries, with a little bit of searching and cutting, I turned an old vampire dress into a super adorable pirate outfit! I know God is pleased with my decision to stay modest and keep my skirt at my knees!
2. Dancing. I love to dance, whether it's ballet or at a party. But I am always cautious about who I am dancing with. I would rather be the dork in the crowd than be the girl in the middle with boys trying to take her dress off because she doesn't care. I am praying that only the nice boys will dance with me, and in a way that pleases God.
3. After parties. My friend and I are just coming back to my house for movies and whatever after the game, so I won't have to worry about parties. However, I feel it's important to post so all of you know drinking and drugs are not okay, and it upsets God to see partiers passing out, getting high, or arrested. Please, do not get into these things. If you're in a bad situation, call someone who can drive and have them pick you up. They will be happy you did. And if you've gotten into bad things before, know that God loves you and has forgiven you!
I hope everyone has a great night! What are your favorite weekend things to do that are appropriate and still fun? Email them to me, and I will make a post about the best things to do on the weekend!
Love,
Kayla

Remember: God is in control!
Sometimes it's hard to remember that we have someone who knows how our life will go and has everything in order. We Christians know it's not our mom or dad with a calendar that tells us our schedule; we know that God has everything perfectly made for us! We are so blessed that our God is that amazing and loves us that much! And when things don't go right, He can fix it! And if we have sinned, His Son has saved us, and our hearts are pure! Lately, I've been struggling with what my future (mostly short term stuff) will be, but I pray to God and ask that Christ shows me the way. Everything is perfectly planned, and so I will not try and force anything in my life; God will put it in my life when it is the right time!
Prayer is so important when you are confused, and also talking to others is important is well. They can pray with you and give you wisdom as well. Prayer requests can be placed below, or if you'd rather keep it more private, you can ALWAYS email me! I am here to help others in Jesus's name!
Have a great rest of your week!

Fulfilling your dream
Hey everyone! I just wanted to post about fulfilling your dreams and glorifying God through them. Today, I have the opportunity to audition for my favorite ballet (The Nutcracker), and I've been praying all week that I get in! It's been my dream to do this since I was about 3 and my mom took me to see it at the theatre I will (hopefully) be performing in! Full circle much? Anyways, I'm going to make sure if I get in, I will use this to glorify Christ! It will most likely be through lead-by-expamle: stretching while reading verses out of my Bible, praying before shows, etc. That way, I have a chance to show all these dancers who may not be saved a way to Jesus Christ! I feel this is my way to really have an impact! What's your lifelong dream, and how will you glorify Christ through it? Tell me in the comments, or email me a story at missionfaithblog@gmail.com.
Also, please pray for me as I go to auditions! I really want a part!
Through Christ,
Kayla

So declare your faith tomorrow morning! I know I'm so excited for this! It will be my first time! I will do a post-pole post about the experience, and if you share any stories or pictures with me at missionfaithblog@gmail.com, I will post them on here. Let me see your love for Christ!
See you at the pole!

Christ's love is EVERYWHERE!!
Did you ever think you would find Jesus's love in the most random place ever? I definitely never expected to see his grace during swim practice! This summer, I was at a swim meet and I bought a grab bag cap (a cap that the printer messed up on, or the company misdesigned) that said "PROVIDENCE HOSPITAL". I thought it was funny. I mean really, who goes into the ER and says, "Oh, Dr. Smith, while you're taking my appendix out, can you set me up with one of those swim caps?" No one. So I got it and threw it into my locker and forgot about it. But today when a friend borrowed it because her cap broke, I noticed that on the side, there's a cross on the cap! And not one of the equal length crosses, like a plus sign, but a cross which, as we all know, is a HUGE symbol of Christ's love! Who would have thought? Where have you seen God's love in an area you would have never thought of?
Have a great weekend! Love you all!

The Bible Verses we need...
So everyone knows how stressful school is (and if you don't, you either go to the best school ever or don't go to school). Then throw in church/youth group, sports, activities, social time (football games, hanging out with friends, etc.), and family, and you've just created a brew destined for stress. And trust me, I know how much it sucks. I am trying to be more and more involved with my youth group (especially because I want to be a youth pastor), I am on a varsity sports team, I play flute for the top band (which means I travel, which is so fun, but will be stressful driving across the country), I am on the speech team (again, flying across the country to compete. Way fun, but catching up on classes will suck.), and I am a ballerina. Did I mention school, especially those pesky AP classes?
I want you to know this is NOT a pity party for me, because I chose all of this as my life. But I want you to understand that I get stress, anxiety, and anger. I understand depression. Even as a Christian, Satan tries to attack me, and I want to fall into a pattern of slacking off, giving up on my goals, and not caring anymore. So if you're ever feeling like this, please don't keep it bottled up inside; you are more than welcome to email me, write on the Mission: Faith's Facebook wall for community support, or tweet me @Mission_Faith.
I have been having one of "those weeks" where everything is freaking me out to the max. I can imagine a lot of people have them as well, and so it's a good idea to have a collection of Bible verses we can turn to for comfort and strenght. Some days, it may feel like God isn't speaking to us. That is not the case at all. God has an entire book written to us with His voice in every verse. He is telling us different things with each verse. So what are your favorite verses to turn to in a tough time? Let me know! And if you need a prayer, you can also post it in the comments, or if you'd rather it not be public, email me at missionfaithblog@gmail.com, and I will pray for you and try and offer you the best advice possible. Please don't keep anything bottled up inside. You need to tell someone.
Have a great week, and I can't wait to hear from you!

Do something in the name of the Lord!
How many of you can say you have really made a difference in the world in Jesus's name? If you can, good for you! Keep it up! If not, I recommend that you start. The Lord has given us talents to spread Christ's love and make a difference in his name! If you're looking for something, talk to your youth director about doing World Vision's 30 Hour Famine. I did it for the first time this spring, and I cannot wait to participate again this year and years to come. Raising money to give food, water, shelter, and education for children who are living in third-world countries may seem hard, but in 2 weeks, I raised enough money to support a child for 7 months! Plus, we did missions around town-- giving out free lunch, telling people about Christ's love, and learning about poverty that attacks even in our small town.
Right now, World Vision needs help more than ever to help these countries, plus the famine in Somalia is awful, and their goal to no longer have hunger in the world is not impossible. Talk to people about sponsoring you in your church's famine (I really encourage you to do it!); you won't have trouble finding those who want to help you in Christ's name!
God has such an amazing plan for you, and doing things in Jesus's names will absolutely help you get on the right path! What have you done to spread Christ's love? If you have a story, email it to me at missionfaithblog@gmail.com. Like Mission: Faith on Facebook, and follow @Mission_Faith on Twitter. Also, follow @WorldVisionUSA and @30HF for information on 30 Hour Famine and their work in Somalia!
Have a blessed day! God send!

The Power of Prayer
Today I truly discovered the power of prayer. I took part in I am Second's phone prayer group today, and there were 3 other people who prayed this morning for about 30-40 minutes. We broke the Lord's prayer down and asked for specific things that Jesus tells us to pray for. I feel so open and free; God heard my prayers and broke chains. Jesus poured his grace over me again. Every time you pray, you become a new person-- free and beautiful. It doesn't matter if sometimes you fall short of God's glory, He knows that you won't be perfect. That is why He gave us His son to forgive those sins and be our link to our God. Like Jesus says, all you need to pray each day is the Lord's Prayer. Break it down, ask for what you need each day.
Matthew 6: 9-13 is the Lord's Prayer, and if you honor God (Matt. 6: 9), ask to show the word of God and Jesus Christ as it is in Heaven on Earth (doing missions, essentially) (Matt. 6: 10), to give us what we need to be sustained (Matt 6: 11), for forgiveness in ourselves and in others (Matt. 6: 12) and to deliver us from evil (to keep Satan out of our lives in whatever form he may come in) (Matt. 6: 13) during your prayer each day, the Lord will give it to you. It isn't a very hard format, and your prayers can change daily for you or anyone else you are praying for.
Prayer is, for me, one of the best ways to feel close to God and Christ. Our God does so much for us when we don't deserve it, but Christ has forgiven our sins so that we can walk with Him. Thank Jesus everyday for that! Christianity is really more a relationship than a religion. Prayer is how it becomes a relationship. I will pray for all of you so that you can see the beautiful relationship we have with Jesus if you haven't seen it already. If you have any prayer requests, you can post them below in the comments (and I'm very sorry if it takes a while for me to moderate them, I'm trying my best!), or you can email them to me (missionfaithblog@gmail.com), post them up on our Facebook fan page, or Tweet them to me (@Mission_Faith). Have a blessed day! Love you all!

Be a Missionary!
A good friend of mine who lives about an hour away was up in my town, and so I was showing her around and we passed the very big cathedral downtown. We decided to go in and check it out (I'd never been in there), and there was a service going on. Neither of us had been able to go to church that day, and so we stopped in and listened for about half an hour. The entire time, they were talking about missions. How important it was for EVERY PERSON to come to know Christ. And at that moment, I knew God had put me in that church pew for a reason. So He could tell me to go out into the world and teach about Jesus.
I have a knack with languages, and so learning them to be able to travel the world and tell about Jesus Christ is a gift God gave me. I work well with children, so youth ministry would be really great for me. God has given you talents to be able to go out into the world and spread the joy of Christ. What are they? Comment below and tell me, I would love to hear about them!
God bless your week!

Something for Facebook (:
Can anyone tell me why it is so hard to pray, but easy to swear? Why clubs are growing and churches are shrinking? Why it is so hard to re-post a Christian status, but easy to post gossip? Why we can worship a celebrity, but not Jesus? Gonna ignore this? The Lord said, if you deny Me in front of your friends, I will deny you in front of my Father. Re-Post if you're not afraid of what your friends will think

Back to school tips!
For those of you who have yet to start school, or even if you just want to make it better if you have started, here are some awesome tips for back to school that everyone should take note of!
1) Dress modestly! You make a great impression on the teachers if you aren't showing off all your skin, and it pleases our great God! What is modest? Wearing clothes that aren't meant to show off your body. Keep skin above your knees covered, for the LORD says that is naked, and He does not appreciate that! (Isaiah 47:2-3) Also, for girls, make your best effort to try and always wear skirts and dresses. Why? Because in Deuteronomy 22:5, God tells us, "A woman shall not wear a man's garment, nor shall a man put on a woman's cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God." Do you hate dresses and skirts? I see that as a good thing; make a sacrifice for God! Please Him, and plus, it makes a GREAT way to start working on some missions! If you know me, you know I have about 5 dresses and 3 skirts that I wear ALL THE TIME! Wear them for your wonderful God to please Him and so He knows we take his word in and want to serve Him.
2) Pay attention in class! God has given you the opportunity to be learning and taking in what He has put in this world! He gave us all this amazing information to learn, so take it in! Be glad you are in a place where we get to learn SO MUCH COOL STUFF (even if you don't like it, I know I'm not excited to start up my precalc class, but the LORD gave it to the world to learn, so take it in!) Just remember at the end of the day, your most important textbook is your Bible, so close everyday on that, even if it is just a few verses of Psalms or Proverbs.
3) Have fun! Sports, classes, friends, family. All of these things can definitely be a source of stress, especially when you're trying to balance all of these while keeping Jesus Christ as your number one! But it can be done, and because Christ is your number one, you will be a lot less stressed than if you didn't have Jesus! But your school years go by so fast, so enjoy them!
God bless your school year, and I want to hear from everyone how your first week of school goes! Comment or email me at missionfaithblog@gmail.com. Have a prayer request? Email me! Know anyone who would like to share their testimony to the world? Point them to Mission: Faith! Love you all!

How to think of God, Jesus Christ, and Christians
God is our coach. He lays down the rules, He tells us how to win. He knows how to do this, and no matter how much me may or may not like His decisions, He is right. Always. Jesus Christ is our captain. He helps the coach get the message out to the players. He also knows the game, and is right. He wants us to win. He links us to our coach. Without our loyal and loving captain, we would not have the connection with the coach. And then the Christians are the team members. We will be knocked down by the opposing team, but our coach and captain will be there cheering us on and wanting us to get back up. We cannot be discouraged when not everything goes the way we want it, because we know our coach has a plan, and He will make sure that our plan follows through. We are a winning team, guys! We can pull through in the end! Sure, we may end up with a few bruises and injuries, but we cannot be discouraged! God knows we will win! And Jesus Christ is our way of knowing this! Christ assures us of this, just like any team captain should!
I am a huge football freak, and so this analogy that God gave me made me smile so big! Do you have any other ways of thinking about it? Email them to me at missionfaithblog@gmail.com, and if they're really good, I will post them!

Carmen's Testimony
The really cool thing about being a Christian is there is always someone looking out for you. No matter how badly you screw up or how unloved you feel, you are ALWAYS loved by God. You have to really know that. And you know what? Jesus loves hearing from you. Talk to Him. He loves you no matter what. Do you love Him? Tell Him so. Sometimes it's really hard for me to fall asleep. When that happens I just talk to Jesus. Usually just telling Jesus I love Him over and over puts me to sleep. It's comforting to know He is always there listening.
The other thing about God is He is such a gentleman. He respects our space so much, that if we say "go away!" He will until we're ready to talk again. If you close your heart off to God, He will stay out. Similarly, though, if you let Him be a part of you and your life, He will and the most amazing things will happen. The easiest way to let Jesus in, is to just talk to Him. Let Him know you are ready to let Him in.

Jessica's Testimony
The Ten Commandments: Sixth Commandment
So these next few commandments don't need a ton of explaining, but there are a few things that need to be specified, of course! The sixth commandment is "Thou shalt not murder." We obviously know killing people is bad, but Jesus said during his sermon on the mountain top that to even hate someone is murder. So love everyone, because they are your brother or sister in Christ!
So I pray everyone has a love-filled day! Send those testimonies and prayer requests in at missionfaithblog@gmail.com (:
God bless (:

The Ten Commandments: Fifth Commandment
The fifth commandment is to honor your mother and father. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! Your parents love you VERY much and want you to grow up to be an AMAZING person! Love them back as well! They only want the best for you in every aspect of your life! Listen to them and follow their guidance. Trust them.
Again, if you want to write an article, send in a testimony, need a prayer request answered, or anything else, email me at missionfaithblog@gmail.com

The Ten Commandments: Fourth Commandment
The fourth commandment tells us to keep the Sabbath day holy. God made the world in 6 days, then took the 7th to look at all the good work He did. So we need to remember the 7th day is to praise Him for the work He has done throughout the week and also look back on how we glorified God and how we can improve into the next week! So take a look today on how you spread the good news of the Lord this past week and how you can do more!
And do you have a testimony to share on here? A prayer request? An article you wish to see posted? Email them to me at missionfaithblog@gmail.com
Thanks so much for the support guys; pass this website on as a way to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ!

The Ten Commandments: The First and Foremost
Just a couple more things I need to add:
1) I got a Twitter today, so you're welcome to follow me! @souldancer1996
2) This is more somber. On Sunday night, I found out two of my best friends lost their dad. Please pray for them, they are struggling. Thank you, I know this will help their healing (even though it will take a long time), and compassion for everyone, whether we know them or not, is very important.

Patience
Praying for patience is a very humbling thing to do. God makes you see how prideful you are. We aren't perfect, and we never will be. My youth leader told us last night "Even the most righteous act you can do looks like filthy rags to Him. But Jesus Christ saves us and so we must live a good life and follow Jesus's lead."
It's a hard thing to accept: even our kindest, most perfect act are disgusting. And it is true, because there's always a flaw. But the power of prayer will help us be our best! And the best way to try and be the best Christian you can be is to have patience. Patience while praying, while living, while witnessing, or doing math homework (okay, that one might just be me, but you get the idea!)
Now I challenge you to pray for patience, to humble yourself, and to try and become the best Christian you can be!
